South Burnett CTC - Working for our Community

Youth Cabinet

Youth Cabinet is an opportunity for young people to have their voices heard.

As a Youth Cabinet member, you will develop plans for the South Burnett to encourage other young people, like yourself, find what is missing in the community. You will talk to schools, councilors, the mayor and other community organisations to enable your project to work. The Youth Cabinet members meet at least once a term to discuss local issues and ways to encourage other young people to engage in youth activities.

The aim of these Youth Cabinets is to:

Discuss how young people want to be involved in local decision making

Work out and implement ways this can happen

Discuss youth needs, facilities and activities that young people would like to develop

Prioritise and put into process achieving some of these visions

Discuss skill development needs for young people

If you fancy yourself a potential Youth Cabinet member, you need to be under the age of 25 years old and willing to participate in each meeting.
